Haggerty steps down as Skipper

27 Sep 2017

At last nights committee meeting, 2017 promotion winning captain Phil Haggerty handed in his resignation as 1st XI Captain. Phil has received an increased workload in his employment and therefore feels he cannot give the required time or commitment the role requires going forward.

Phil said "It's been an honour and a pleasure to captain such a fantastic Cricket Club and I can you assure you I haven't taken this decision lightly. What's been an even bigger honour has been skippering a great set of lads who have played some fantastic cricket this season and as a result have deservingly won promoted. I wish the next captain of Padiham CC all the very best and will still enjoying playing for this great club."

The Chairman, Mr Keith Clayton placed on record his thanks to Phil for his hard work, dedication and efforts throughout the year on and off the field.  Phil will continue to be an integral part of the 1st XI  squad in 2018.

The committee now invited applications for the 1st XICaptaincy with a deadline of the 31st October.
